Location: Share this project … Work in progress Renovation of an investment property, to host the foundation ‘Agir pour l’audition’, coupled with a research lab, for the exclusive use of the Hearing Institute. ____________ The premises of a former lawyer school will be renovated and refurbished to accomodate the Foundation ‘Agir pour l’Audition’ and the associated research lab dedicated to Pr Christine Petit‘s team – Research Unit: Génétique et Physiologie de l’Audition – Département Neuroscience / INSERM U1120 of professeur Christine Petit, currently located at Pasteur Institute. The ground floor will be open to the public, with the aim to inform, detect and guide visitors. The premises will include a reception area, PCs equiped with the Web Sourd service, meeting rooms, and a lecture hall. The research lab will spread in the rest of the building. The program is organized around a glass atrium and a patio. Some rooms like the lecture hall will have to demonstrate examplary standards to ‘exemplify the technologic possibilities to serve the deaf community, as well as the blind and partially sighted, and host specific events.’ The facade’s design and construction will be given extra care. The opening on the street must reveal and highlight the quality and complexity of the program and its activities. Eventhough some examples already exist, the making of the facade is a new challenge for the agency.
